Jo Marama

Massage Therapist

As a keen basketball player and adventure sport athlete in my earlier years I became interested in massage through pain and injury management. I developed my skills over the years specialising in deep tissue and sports massage. Growing up on a farm and working with horses and being an AI technician, I am all too familiar with the aches and pains that hard work can bring. I was invited to join the team at ilu in Feb 2017. I enjoy being involved in the community and helping people, so this is the ideal place for me.

Petr Svoboda

Massage Therapist

I love to do treatments which are beneficial for others and to make a difference for them. I have been working as a massage therapist and massage trainer for about 15 years, for several of those years I have travelled around the world as the personal massage therapist for the Seishinkan Kendo Dojo team. I gained my Diploma of Remedial Massage whilst also studying special education in which I have a bachelor’s degree. Previously in my spare time I have run sports activities for children and adults with special needs. In 2012, I retired from my successful sports career as a combat shooter, in which I was six times world champion.

Savanah Christie

(Currently on Maternity Leave) Beauty Therapist

I began my beauty career in Auckland at Elite School of Beauty and Spa. I love all aspects of beauty therapy but I am very passionate about everything to do with eyes and eyebrows. Apart from my work life I’m a mother to three beautiful children. Our little family moved down from Auckland at the end of 2021 for a better lifestyle and I must say what a beautiful place it is, from the town to the people. Everyone is so welcoming. I’m excited to grow my knowledge and upskill and broaden my experience while having the opportunity of being a part of the team at ilu Day Spa.

Naira Pedro Tatay

(Currently on Maternity Leave) Wellbeing Therapist

I have studied Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for 5 years and I continue to study, learn and train every day. I am passionate about the different philosophies, perspectives and lifestyles that human beings have - these passions were one of the main reasons why I began to study TCM, and Taoism (The philosophy and origins of TCM) in Spain where I came from. I have also studied Hinduism in India, training to become a yoga teacher and I have studied other disciplines like massage, Craniosacral, fascia movement, and others. With the combination of all these studies, ultimately help me to read, listen and understand the different expressions that the body and mind use to manifest itself.
